I visited Qing Xin Ling Leisure & Cultural Village just before the Chinese New Year. The weather was hot at that time, but when entering the village, I felt much more comfortable and cool. It’s even a little cold when I hike up to Memory Lane which is sandwiched between 2 limestone cliffs.
The overall experience was great. Nice setting and peaceful nature. It definitely deserves a spot in the list of my favourite Ipoh attractions.

1. About Qing Xin Ling Leisure & Cultural Village
Qing Xin Ling Leisure & Cultural Village is located in Gunung Rapat, Ipoh, Perak. It was opened to the public in August 2014 and is managed by a local Buddhist association.
Just like its name – Qing Xin Ling (which means Serene Village in Mandarin), this place is a relaxing attraction in Ipoh, which offers a serene lake surrounded by limestones and art & culture displays.

2. Qing Xin Ling entrance fee
The entrance fee to Qing Xin Ling is RM12 for Malaysians & RM20 for foreigners. Admission is free for kids under 7 years old.
You can buy the tickets at the ticket counter (located near the open-air parking). A guided tour is also available for an extra fee.
If you travel with a big group, you should contact them 1 day in advance (contact number provided above).

3. How to get to Qing Xin Ling?
Qing Xin Ling is located in a residential area with no public transportation access. The only way to reach the place is by private vehicle:
- By private car: If you are not a local Malaysian, you can rent a car offline or online via the Socar app.

Note:
- It takes about 20-30 minutes to drive to the cultural village from Ipoh Old Town.
- There is a large open-air car park near the ticket counter for Qin Xing Ling.

2. Things to do inside Qing Xin Ling Leisure & Cultural Village
Tour around the cultural village on a bicycle
This is my favorite activity in Qing Xin Ling. You can take any bicycle you want to ride around. There are 3 types available: single bicycles, tandem bikes, as well as family bicycles.
Pro tips: If you want to stop somewhere, always watch your bicycle, if not, people will just take it (that happened to me *sad*).

Visit the traditional houses
Just in front of the entrance gate, you can see many beautiful Malay, Chinese and Indian traditional houses. These houses are furnished with a lot of antiques, making it feel like you’re entering the real local houses.
Hike up to the Memory Lane
Another place that showcases antiques is Memory Lane. It is nestled among limestone cliffs, which is why the air there is super cool. To get there, you have to take a short hike, but no worries, it’s not that tiring.
Memory Lane features many displays of local stores from the old days, including a hair salon, restaurant, food stall, and more.

Snap as many photos as possible
It’s such a pity if you don’t take any photos in Qing Xin Ling village. There are tons of insta-worthy corners, notably these:
- The banyan tree with tons of red ribbons. If you want to write your wishes and throw the ribbons, it costs RM3)
- The serene lake: in front of the entrance gate, there is a nice balcony with a great view of the lake.
- The traditional houses: you can even get inside and see their collection of antiques.
5. What to bear in mind?
Here are things you should know before visiting Qing Xin Ling Leisure & Cultural Village:
- Plan your trip well because Qing Xin Ling is closed every Sunday and on public holidays.
- The village is close to many Ipoh attractions such as Kek Lok Tong, Ling Sen Tong, Sam Poh Tong, and Mirror Lake. Thus you can plan your trip to visit all those attractions in the same day.
- If you still want to use your bicycle, keep an eye on it.
- The village is not accessible by public transportation.
