Where to buy the tickets?

You can buy tickets online or at the jetty.

There are 2 jetties where you can purchase the Melaka River Cruise tickets and take the cruise:

  • Melaka River Cruise Jeti Taman Rempah (The Spice Garden): Google Maps
  • Melaka River Cruise Jeti Quayside (near Stadhuys): Google Maps

I took the cruise twice and always bought the tickets at this jetty: Melaka River Cruise Jeti Quayside. The reason is it’s nearer to other attractions in Melaka.

There is one more ticket counter next to the Tan Kim Seng Bridge (location) where you can also buy the tickets.

Operating hours: Daily – 9:00AM to 11:00PM

    3. My review of the Melaka River Cruise

I have experienced the Melaka River Cruise twice.

The first time was with my mom and grandma (during noontime).

The second was a solo trip (during sunset).

Overall, I enjoyed the cruise journey as it was very relaxing. Even though it was boiling hot in Melaka, when taking the cruise, it was really breezy and cool. This activity is perfectly suitable for kids and the elderly because no walking is required.

The only downside is that I had to queue for roughly 30 minutes for the cruise. However, there are benches available at the jetty, so at least we didn’t have to stand.

    4. The best time to take the Melaka River Cruise?

Both daytime and nighttime are perfect for taking the Melaka River Cruise.

In the daytime, you can see the street art and ancient houses along the riverside more clearly, allowing you to take better photos and videos with natural light. If you are concerned about Malaysia’s hot weather, rest assured that it’s very cool and breezy when taking the cruise (based on my experience).

On the other hand, if you prefer enjoying the scenery with all the colorful lighting in the surroundings, it’s better to take the cruise in the evening. However, you will need a really good camera to take nice photos.

One brilliant idea is to take the cruise during sunset (around 7:30 PM) when you can enjoy the beauty of Melaka River in both daytime and nighttime.
